happened at our house!!! Gene Bean turned 8!!!!! My baby girl is 8!!
She had some very specific request for her special day.....balloons and a sign in the living room when she woke up, cookies and Capri Sun for treats at school, lasagna for dinner, and a chocolate cake frosted with chocolate frosting along with chocolate ice cream for her birthday!! We did our best to fulfill her requests....
She can't wait to eat this...
Dinner with Grandma & Grandpa Carter.....
Hannah & Allie....
Getting ready to open presents.....
a whiteboard and markers, so she can be a teacher....
Lalaloospy.....
Little Miss Muffin dolls.......
Light-up Sketchers shoes {they are seriously way bright}....
a new pillow {yea she was excited about this one}......
and see if you can see the excitement about this next present {a huge Hershey chocolate bar}........
along with a Lalaloopsy movie which she really didn't notice for about 5 minutes cause she couldn't believe she got such a huge chocolate bar! She also got some cute summer clothes and a couple swimsuits but after that choclate bar nothing else really mattered!!
My parents brought her a present, it's a very special one. One that they give all their grand kids on their 8th birthday!!! Grandpa Carter handed Halle a box and in it was some money!! So we started counting....
And we counted up to $800.00!!!!
Here's grandpa telling Halle about the money and why she gets so much....
"When Justin was first born Grandpa started saving a little bit out of each paycheck. We then decided that on our grand kids 8th birthdays we would give them the money we had put aside in account for them. For our grandsons it was to be put in the bank and saved for their missions and for our grand daughters it was for their weddings or college." {That was the summed up, short version}.
They have done this for all their grand kids and start a new account for each one when they are born!! Isn't that just the most awesome thing ever!! My parents have 8 grandchildren they have done this for so far and a few more coming along!!! Halle had a hard time comprehending the full amount but we told her she could probably buy a room full of chocolate bars and that put it in perspective a little bit!! We went and out it in the bank and that's where it will stay to her wedding day!! Which is like.....15 years away!! ;)
