Justin had his farewell Sunday February 24th! He was asked to speak on "Receiving Personal Revelation and Inspiration" and he did amazing!!! A natural speaker! The night before his farewell we were running around getting his breakfast ready, setting up at the high school and cooking some of the food that we didn't get to bed until around 3:00 in the morning! But we were up and early and at the church at 8:45! He had several friends and family members there to support him!!! After he talked in church we headed over to the high school for a breakfast!! I had such great help from my family.....I couldn't have done it without them!!! We had pancakes, syrup, strawberries w/ whip cream, hash browns, bacon, sausage, muffins, fruit, and Tang {per Justin's request}!!! We had plenty of food and grandpa, Blake, and Mike S. did an awesome job at flippin' pancakes...
Everyone cleaned up and we went home and took a little rest!!! We met back over to Steph and Mike's for a family dinner!!! I had a very talented lady, Adrienne Balmforth, make this cake for Elder Russell....
He thought it was pretty cool!!! We had turkey sandwiches and all the fixin's and visited for a while...
We were so lucky that Grandma and Grandpa Fillmore were able to come down and spend time with us!! Grandma has been really sick lately and we were glad she was able to make it...
Grandma and Grandpa Fillmore had to leave and we spent some time talking about missions and give Justin advice! Steph and Mike and their family gave Justin a pocket size music book and an oil vial...
and Mandie and Mike and their family gave him a couple of ties with little inspirational quotes on them...
Mike B. Had something for Justin! 17 years ago when Justin was 2 we gave Mike a shirt when he went on his mission! We put Justin's footprints on the tail and a little note that said "Keep on tracting Uncle Mike! Love, Justin"!!! Well Mike gives Justin a wrapped box and it's the same shirt! He had kept it for 17 years and was now giving it back to Justin!! It was a tear jerker moment! To think that it was now Justin's turn to "keep on tracting"!!! We tried to re-create the photo but it was awkward!!! Justin's grown quite a bit since 1995...
It was a pretty special day!!! We ended the night watching "Here Comes the Boom"!!! The last movie Elder Russell would watch for a couple of years!!!
