Level II and Level III...

Halle took swim lessons again this year!!! She is becoming quite the little water bug!! This from a girl that HATED bath time as a baby and even as a little toddler...she would hate to get her face wet and would have to have a towel right by the tub in case she got her face wet she would have to dry it off!! So to see her jumping off the side, going off the slide, jumping off the diving board, and trying to swim.....it's huge!!! She loves the water and swimming now! One her favorite things to do now is take baths! She will spend a good hour or so in the tub playing with Barbies, Little Pet Shops, or "swim" in the tub!!! She's come a long way baby!!! So we signed up for swim lessons, that go for two weeks at a time, and started her in Level II where you work on your front and back floats, windmills with your arms, kicks, and start to learn rotary breathing! This is on the last day where they have fun going down the slide and jumping off the diving board ~ notice the life jacket...She passed Level II so we signed her up for Level III which was a little more challenging! To pass you have to swim across the pool, unassisted, front stroke and back stroke. She was the youngest one in her class but did super! She struggles a bit with getting her arms to do windmills, her legs to kick, and remembering to breath all at the same time! I think alot has to do with coordination but she's getting it!! Here she goes diving off the edge into the 10 ft. {notice the absence of life jacket, no life jackets in Level III}... then off the diving board ~ again without the life jacket... then they had to dive off the diving board ~ she tends to belly flop when she dives, but again... she's learning and she will get it... She didn't pass Level III but we knew she wouldn't and talked about it and her said..."that's okay, I will pass next year"! We are so proud of her ~ way to go little dolly! So thankful for...1) Halle has gotten over her fear and dislike of water 2) she loves to go swimming 3) her little tan lines from being in the sun!!
